How to
Take a Brain Boosters TeleChat
so You Can Help Your Kids with Brain-based Learning
BrainBoosters
TeleChats are the perfect answer for teachers looking for
professional development classes that are convenient and
cost effective
while offering powerful learning strategies,
and teacher resources.
And Brain
Boosters TeleChats are also the ideal way for busy moms
and
dads (even grandparents) to get parenting tips to help
their kids with
learning and homework.
And taking a
brain-based learning TeleChat is "a piece of cake."
Pick up
your phone, dial the TeleChat number, enter your
personal pin, and listen. That's it. You don't even have to
talk if you don't want to.
But there are
a few other things that will help you get the most out of
your Brain Boosters TeleChat.
1. Download
your handouts before the call. Sometimes you'll find a fun
quiz
or self-test along with the handouts. If you've got
time, you might want
to do the quiz ahead of time.
2. Print out
your handouts on 3-hole punched paper and then stick them
in
a binder just for the Brain Boosters TeleChat. Eventually
you'll have an
entire workbook just for brain-based
learning. If you like to be organized,
you can get six
dividers for your notebook, one for each week.
3. Print two
copies of templates you find in your handouts that you might
want to duplicate for your class or your kids at home. That
way you can
write on one copy during the call.
4. Follow
along with your handouts and write on them as instructed.
You'll remember what you're learning better if you're
writing and listening. Writing
or underlining important
points in different colors also helps you remember.
What you'll
need during your TeleSeminar
1. Access
to a computer where you can get e-mail and download and
print out handouts ahead of time. You do not need a computer during the
TeleChat.
2.
Telephone. Good idea also to get a headset to plug into your
telephone
so you can write and doodle and drink water during
your class. If you've
got high-speed access and your phone
is next to your computer, you can
follow your handouts on
your computer screen more easily if you have a headset.
3. Water to drink. Water is
essential to learning. You'll learn all about why
in the
first TeleSeminar.
4. Paper
and pencil. Colored markers are also useful.
5. The
class handouts you've already downloaded and printed off the
Web
6. A quiet
space where you won't be interrupted during your TeleChat
7.
After your TeleChat, find some children
at home or at school who will benefit from what you've
learned.
